The mission of this web site, my history tours and exhibits is to promote and to create an awareness of the history and cultural legacy of Redding, Connecticut.

When I got started the intent was to make it easy for people to find historical information about Redding from anywhere at anytime. Over the years I've found that online historical resources have many advantages... they are available 24/7 365 days a year, they can be used by multiple people at the same time, and they can be updated quickly should new information be found on a topic. The one disadvantage is that history websites are usually owned by one person and should something happen to that person the website goes away when the web hosting bills are not paid.

To ensure that this website stays online for as long as possible I'm asking people to donate to a web hosting fund. The idea is to pay forward the web hosting account fees to ensure that this website remains online with or without me. And yes, I do intend to keep living, I'm just trying to be proactive here. Your mindset changes at 40. :)

Web hosting costs me $60 a year. So it will not be all that difficult to pay forward multiple years on the account if people are willing to help out.

• The Mark Twain Centennial Project- This project's objective is to promote and raise awareness of Clemens' time in Hartford and Redding, Connecticut by showcasing the towns & cities connected to his time here in Connecticut.

• Pride in Place. Programs that help local children realize all the history that surrounds them and gets them excited about where they live. Eventually I'd like to attempt to get these tours on video. The idea being- I show people what's so cool about their hometown.

• Walking Tours & Slideshows of Redding, Georgetown and Branchville. Spring and Fall. Branchville (Mining Tour) drew over 75 people!!

• Online Tours via Google Maps- Tour of My Brother Sam is Dead towns, events and locations related to the novel and Mark Twain's Redding.

• Promotion of Putnam's Encampment at Putnam Park- offline and online exhibits.

• My Brother Sam is Dead Reader's Guide for Teachers and Students- book, e-book and online resources.

• My Brother Sam is Dead Seminars for Teachers and Students- classroom presentations & tours of Redding.

• Stormfield- Twain's Final Home- offline and online exhibits.

• Powerpoint Presentations that promote Redding and Related Topics.
